Performance in Wet Conditions
Swimwear fabric must keep its shape and coverage when stretched and wet. The correct base construction also depends on whether the fabric is used for a one-piece suit, bikini, compression panel or lining.
Material Direction
- Nylon-spandex or polyester-spandex selected around recovery, hand feel, print route and exposure conditions.
- Construction and GSM matched to coverage, compression and lining requirements.
- Solid colors and prints reviewed in both relaxed and stretched states.
Key Performance
Stretch recovery, wet opacity, colorfastness and resistance to the agreed pool or beach exposure should be verified using test methods appropriate to the destination market.
Approval Standard
- Approve color or print appearance under representative stretch.
- Evaluate shell and lining together where layered opacity is required.
- Record exposure tests, tolerances and care conditions before bulk production.
